Clean the World
Corporate Social Responsibility
The IECA has continued its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative in efforts to support the local communities where its conferences are being held annually. For the Spring Education Conference, IECA has chosen to sponsor Clean the World.
Clean the World Foundation is a global health organization committed to improving the quality of life by providing sustainable resources and education focusing on sanitation and hygiene to those affected by poverty, homelessness, and humanitarian or natural crises. Their mission is to protect the environment and save millions of lives by leading a global hygiene revolution to distribute recycled soap and hygiene products to children and families worldwide.
Clean the World eliminates needless waste from landfills by partnering with hospitality industries who provide soaps, towels, and other hygienic goods that would otherwise be discarded. These goods are sanitized and recycled in an environmentally safe manner, and then distributed to children and families all over the world who are in desperate need of proper hygiene. To learn more about Clean the World, visit their website by clicking here.
The IECA is partnering with Clean the World’s Hygiene Kit Program. Our contribution to this organization will be to put together these hygiene kits to give to a local charity in the San Diego area, Veterans Village of San Diego. We will be hosting a hygiene kit build activity at the Early Bird Reception, and then later near registration, where each attendee can put together a kit consisting of soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, and a washcloth. The attendees will also have an opportunity to include a personalized note to inspire the recipient of the kit. The Veterans Villiage's mission is to serve America’s veteran in overcoming homelessness and you can learn more about their work and those who will receive the kits by going to their website.
The IECA urges attendees to make a donation to Clean the World during the registration process. Donations of $25 or more will receive a free conference t-shirt on-site while supplies last!
