The IECA has continued its Social Impact initiative in efforts to support the local communities where its conferences are being held annually. For the 2020 IECA Spring Education Conference, the IECA has chosen to partner with Napa Valley Community Foundation and donate towards their Napa Valley Community Disaster Relief Fund.
Napa Valley Community Foundation is a public 501c3 charity; a grantmaking foundation; a philanthropic advisor; and a staging ground for people, resources and ideas. They aid their community by partnering with other local charities that make a lasting difference and supporting them in addition to their own initiatives. Their mission is to mobilize resources, inspire giving, build knowledge and provide leadership on vital community issues to improve the quality of life for all in Napa County. The IECA will be supporting the Napa Valley Community Foundation’s Napa Valley Community Disaster Relief Fund. Created following the 2014 South Napa Earthquake, which helped with nearly $7 million worth of aid towards the community, it reopened in October 2017 to aid with the relief and recovery efforts from a series of wildfires that touched the Napa Valley. Since then, the Fund has provided more than $8 million which has enabled 15,000 fire survivors to receive relief services like temporary housing, meals and medical care; and more than 2,200 households who suffered economic hardship as a result of the fires to receive direct cash assistance totaling nearly $3 million to-date. You can learn more about the Fund by clicking here.
The IECA urges attendees to make a donation to the Napa Valley Community Disaster Relief Fund during the registration process.
